Sunday, September 8, 2024, is Firefighters' National Memorial Day. Flags at all RDOS facilities will fly at half-mast to honour these brave individuals.

Firefighters’ National Memorial Day was established by the Government of Canada as a tribute to the firefighters who risk their lives to keep Canadians safe. Each year, the second Sunday in September is designated in memory of firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty.

The RDOS extends immense gratitude to the firefighters who continue to show unwavering sacrifice and commitment to serve their communities.
