Every four years, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) conducts general local elections to elect a director to represent each of its Electoral Areas. Each municipal director on the Board of Directors is appointed by their respective council from their elected members.

The newly elected Board of Directors will take part in an in-depth orientation schedule which includes sessions on ethics and conduct, customer service, and strategic planning.
