EOC Update: State of Local Emergency Issued for Electoral Area D
News ArticleThe Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) advises that due to the Thomas Creek wildfire in Electoral Area D and the potential threat to life and property a State of Local Emergency (SOLE) has been issued.
WHEREAS due to the Thomas Creek wildfire in Electoral Area D and the imminent threat to life and property; and,
With the power authorized under Section 12 (1) of the Emergency Program Act (RS, 1996, Chap 111) it is now declared that a state of local emergency exists in the RDOS for all of Electoral Area D;
The State of Local Emergency commences immediately on July 11, 2021 to remain in force for seven days until date July 17, 2021 at midnight unless revoked by order of Regional District of OkanaganSimilkameen or the Minister responsible.
