The Regional District is proposing OCP amendments in relation to the regulation of short-term rental accommodations.

Amendment Bylaw No. 3101, 2025, proposes to amend the Electoral Area “A”, “C” & “E” Official Community Plan Bylaws by removing references to “vacation rental” uses and introducing new policies supporting the provision of “short term rental accommodation” uses in dwelling units, subject to the issuance of a Short-Term Rental Permit. The bylaw further proposes to update the objectives and policies found in the Temporary Use Permit section of the Plans to include the criteria against which the Regional District will assess Short-Term Rental Permit applications.
