Description: |
The Regional District is proposing OCP and Zoning amendments in relation to the regulation of short-term rental regulations.
Amendment Bylaw No. 3099, 2025, proposes to amend the Electoral Area “D”, “F” & “I” Official Community Plan Bylaws by removing references to “vacation rental” uses and introducing new policies supporting the provision of “short term rental accommodations” in a property owner’s principal residence.
Amendment Bylaw No. 2800.50, 2025, proposes to amend the Okanagan Valley Zoning Bylaw No. 2800, 2022, by removing references to “bed and breakfast operation” and “vacation rental” uses and replacing with a new “short term rental accommodation” use class. The amendment bylaw proposes to permit “short term rental accommodation” in all zones in Electoral Areas “D”, “F” & “I” that currently permit a “single detached dwelling” use, and to limit the maximum number to one (1) per property.
