INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) offices will be closed on Monday, September 30, 2024, in observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

September 30 marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and coincides with Orange Shirt Day. The date provides opportunities to engage and educate people about British Columbia’s colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities.

“Advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples is a long-term goal of the RDOS that involves listening and learning, relationship-building, and patience,” said RDOS Chair Mark Pendergraft.
