EOC Update: PIB Evacuation Alert remains in effect, Shrike Hill evacuees fridge/freezer pick up

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) is in regular communication with BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), Penticton Indian Band (PIB) and the City of Penticton to monitor the status of the Skaha Creek wildfire.

An Evacuation Alert was issued by the PIB EOC on Monday, August 30, 2021 remains in effect. The City of Penticton’s Emergency Support Services (ESS) Reception Centre is prepared to assist should the Evacuation Alert become an Order, and is set up at 199 Ellis Street, Penticton. Pre-register with ESS by visiting https://ess.gov.bc.ca or calling 1-800-585-9559.

Water recreationalists are reminded to please remain clear of water-skimming aircraft so as not to impede BCWS operations.

 

Shrike Hill Fridge/Freezer Pick Up

Residents in the Shrike Hill area who were on Evacuation Order and need to dispose of refrigerators and/or freezers should have these items to the curb for collection by 8:00 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Fridges and freezers must be empty and clean.
