Mariposa Park project update (Electoral Area "F")
News ArticleINFORMATION RELEASE
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) has completed enhancement projects at Mariposa Park in Electoral Area “F” (Greater West Bench). Recent upgrades include construction of an accessible perimeter pathway, improvements to the irrigation system, and enhanced landscaping. The parking area has been resurfaced with asphalt millings to reduce dust.
“This enhancement project was made possible thanks to the provincial Growing Communities Fund,” said Riley Gettens, Electoral Area “F” Director. “The park upgrades are the result of input from RDOS staff and residents. I would also like to recognize and thank the volunteer members of the Electoral Area “F” Parks Commission for their commitment to this project.”
The Mariposa Park project also incorporated valuable input on invasive species management and water-wise initiatives from the Okanagan and Similkameen Invasive Species Society (OASISS) and Okanagan WaterWise.
