Al Zone Review
Background
As part of on-going work related to the preparation of a single Okanagan Valley Electoral Area Zoning Bylaw, the Regional District is undertaking a review of the Administrative and Institutional (AI) Zone.
The intent of the AI Zone is to provide a designation for public, non-profit or utility uses such as schools, religious buildings, recreation facilities, community centres, public health facilities, community care facilities, fire halls, libraries, post offices, and local government and improvement or irrigation district buildings.
Amongst other things, it is being proposed to introduce a consistent list of permitted uses in the AI Zone and definitions to describe these uses, and to further make the regulations related to minimum parcel size & width, minimum setbacks, minimum parcel coverage and maximum building height consistent.
The proposed changes to uses will require amendment to a number of other zones, such as the Okanagan Falls Town Centre (OFTC) and Naramata Village Centre (NVC).
