RDOS information system update
On Tuesday, August 11, Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) staff were alerted to an attempted ransomware attack.
As a precaution, Information Services staff purposely isolated the system network and took email, Internet and other services offline. Staff are exercising due diligence and working with cyber insurance experts to ensure the integrity and validation of all systems prior to bringing them out of isolation and back into operation.
The RDOS website is available and online payments are secure and continue to be accepted. Staff can be reached in person at the Penticton Office located at 101 Martin Street, or by phone at 250- 492-0237.
Some functionality of www.rdos.bc.ca is limited, including portions of mapping and some access to content.
Please note that staff are unable to access email at this time. Vendor payments and automatic withdrawals may be delayed, and customers with utility accounts on the pre-authorized payment plan have not had a payment withdrawn.
There is no estimated time for when full services will resume, please continue to check www.rdos.bc.ca for updates.
