Regional Trails
Traversing everything from desert orchards to world-class vineyards, the multi-use trails and world class cycling network in the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys will take you through a tour of some of the most diverse and unique landscapes in the province.
In 2011, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, in cooperation with its member municipalities, developed the Regional Trails Master Plan (RTMP). This foundational document sets out priorities and direction for trail development and promotion in the region - since its release, the Regional Trails program has grown tremendously and is quickly becoming a model for other local governments.
In 2014, the Click, Hike & Bike application was upgraded to include maps, new trails and internet mapping technology and has become one of the most popular pages on the website. The Internet mapping allows users to zoom into any area of the region and view trails on an aerial photo base and obtain detailed descriptions on key sections and access points.
It is the goal of the Regional Trails program to foster locally-valued and world-renowned trails that provide exceptional opportunities for recreation and connecting communities in addition to promoting environmental and economic benefits.
Hope to see you on the trails.

Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail open following temporary closure - April 2022
The KVR Trail was temporarily closed in late April 2022, between Arawana Road and Sutherland Road in Electoral Area E (Naramata). The closure allowed crews to safely perform geotechnical investigation on behalf of the Province of B.C. The work is now complete.
Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail improvements - September 2021
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) coordinated with Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) and the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) to complete surface improvements along the Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail between Myra Canyon and Chute Lake. Resurfacing work took place along 20 trail sections with an accumulated distance of 3 km. These trail sections have incurred severe damage over the past several years and the intent of this project is to create a more suitable surface for trail users to safely enjoy.
