Red placard status
Red placard received during Rapid Damage Assessments indicate the property has significant damage, or a site hazard exists that is serious enough to restrict reentry. This may include damage to key support elements that will require a more in-depth review by a structural and/or geotechnical engineer to determine that the home is safe to enter. Each situation will have unique requirements.
Call the RDOS Building and Planning Department at 250-490-4126 to arrange a time to discuss your specific situation, or email buildinginspection@rdos.bc.ca. Include red placard in the subject line.
