Property Tax Exemptions - for Non-Profit Organizations

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen recognizes the significant value of volunteers, volunteer groups and agencies to the spiritual, educational, social, cultural, and physical well-being of the region. 

These non-profit organizations have the opportunity to apply for a Property Tax Exemption. Please see the Property Tax Exemption Guidelines for eligibility criteria.

The deadline for submitting completed application forms including supporting documentation is July 31, 2024. 

Successful applicants may be asked to publicly acknowledge the exemption.

Annual Utilities Invoices will be mailed in early June 2024, due date will be August 31, 2024.

Annual utilities include:

  • Garbage & Recycling Curbside Fee for Areas "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", "G", "I" and Red Wing 
  • Olalla Water
  • Sun Valley Water
  • Willowbrook Water
  • Missezula Lake Water
  • Gallagher Lake Sewer
  • Apex Transfer Station

All 2024 unpaid accounts after August 31, 2024 will have a 10% late penalty apllied

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2024 will be transferred to property taxes.

Okanagan Falls 2024 Due Dates

1st Quarter - March 22, 2024

2nd Quarter - June 21, 2024

3rd Quarter - September 20, 2024

4th Quarter - December 13, 2024

All Okanagan Falls accounts that have an unpaid balance at December 13, 2024 will be charged a 10% penalty for late payment on the outstanding 2024 amount.

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2024 will be transferred to property taxes.

Naramata 2024 Due Dates

1st Quarter - March 22, 2024

2nd Quarter - June 21, 2024

3rd Quarter - September 20, 2024

4th Quarter - December 13, 2024

All Naramata accounts that have an unpaid balance at December 13, 2024 will be charged a 10% penalty for late payment on the outstanding 2024 amount.

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2024 will be transferred to property taxes.

West Bench 2024 Due Dates

1st Quarter - May 17, 2024

2nd Quarter - August 16, 2024

3rd Quarter - November 14, 2024

4th Quarter - February 14, 2025

All West Bench accounts that have an unpaid balance at December 13, 2024 will be charged a 10% penalty for late payment on the outstanding 2024 amount.

Accounts that remain unpaid as of December 31, 2024 will be transfer to property taxes.

Note: West Bench 4th Quarter invoice will be issued January 2025. This invoice will not be part of the 2024 transfer to property taxes.
